In mid-2022, when all of Wall Street, the IMF, World Bank, and pretty much every other establishment research shop had forecast economic growth for China of between 4% to 5%, Mike Stathis stated that China would be lucky to achieve 3% growth for 2022.
In late-2022, when the Wall Street consensus was that China's growth would mount a strong rebound in 2023, Mike stated that growth would remain weak such that Beijing would be forced to introduce numerous stimulus measures towards the end of the year.
These were easy calls for Mike, given he had the benefit of the China Report, which he had himself and presented in spring of 2022.
